LONGRIDGE TOWN COUNCIL MAYOR MAKING WEDNESDAY 9 MAY 2018
Cllr Stuart Tyrer formally presented Cllr Paul Byrne with
the mayoral chains at the Longridge Town Council meeting held on Wednesday 9
May 2018. Cllr Byrne then thanked Cllr Tyrer for his hard work during the year and presented him with a Longridge Town Shield.
Paul's Mayoress will be his wife of 48 years Ann. Paul served as Mayor previously in 2011 and
is honoured to Mayor for 2018/19. Local people will probably remember Paul in
his voluntary role as a special Constable for 13 years and for working for
Longridge First Responders for almost 12 years.
The Deputy Mayor is Cllr Steve Ashcroft who
joined the Council at the beginning of 2014.
Having lived on the outskirts of Longridge from 1993 moved into the town
itself in 2010.
Steve is a former Chief Executive of Royal Preston Hospital
and Director of the North West Development Agency. He is married to Sandra and says he is
looking forward to supporting the Mayor over the coming year.
